History

Marilleva touristic centre was born in 1968 thanks to the architect Luciano Perini´s project. It has been realized between 1970 and 1980 and boasts an extremely cutting edge architectural concept, that´s still updated both in terms of space sharing and in considering the huge windows through which it seems to be dipped into the surrounding area.

The aim was to build a sort of “island” where there is no need of cars to go around, as all can be easily reached walking and all ski lifts starts are just out of the door. The small and long structures raise from the ground and have been built on pilasters in order not to interrupt the “glacial morena” stratums; they create this way a covered space where to park.

The longitudinal structures on different floors follow the ground going in north- south direction and are cross connected by a one-floor structure.
The desired effect, avoiding high and encumbering volumes, is to offer a continuity in viewing and grants at the mean time a relive of the total structure to let the right room to the surrounding nature.

Since then many infrastructures has been raised all around to satisfy our guests´ needs: i.e. the modern cable-car and the several commercial activities. SS. Peter and Paul´s Church has recently been built to satisfy the growing necessity of an adapt place of worship, thanks to a project signed Studio Perini.
